Dry Needling

This procedure include the insertion of a solid stainless steel needle into the trigger points of injured or weak muscles.

Acupuncture Treatments

Dry needling and acupuncture are different. This procedure utilizes the Chinese Medical System of diagnosis and theory for internal and orthopedic conditions.

Craniosacral Therapy

This gentle light-touch form of bodywork incorporates long holds on the body to facilitate release and unwinding of restrictions within the tissues and structures. Craniosacral therapy often promotes deep relaxation and balancing of the nervous system. Treatments are done with patients fully clothed.

Massage Therapy

This treatment addresses pain by integrating joint mobility, relaxation and deep tissue techniques in a collaboration between client and therapist.

After years in the corporate world, Liesl embarked on a journey to realize her long-term dream of becoming a massage therapist. In 2019, she graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts. Liesl’s professional studies and training include medical massage, structural integration, Tui Na, Reiki healing, and craniosacral techniques.

Liesl believes the body is not a machine and that bodywork is the sacred energy work of body, mind, and spirit. She has witnessed how listening to the body can create a shift that allows us to let go of patterns of pain, release restrictions, and bring about more freedom of movement. Her integrative bodywork sessions offer a customized treatment designed to help you reset your calm, relieve your pain, reduce tension and feel more at home in your body.

Gifted with a keen sensitivity to the sublte forces of nature, Sarah finds craniosacral practice to be the conversation between your tissues and the body’s innate wisdom. With light touch and deep listening, Sarah connects with the body to facilitate unwinding, release, and balacing of the nervous system.

Sarah began her journey into craniosacral therapy while in school at East West College in 2012. Over the years she has helped folks come back into their body, feel more whole, complete and spacious. Many of her clients have found relief from debilitating migraines, concussions, neck pain and trauma from car accidents, digestive issues and “stuck” emotions that manifest as physical pain.

Sarah’s craniosacral training extends from coursework at the Upledger Institute to studying with Portland’s own Carol Gray. Her studies have focused on the body’s immue response and chronic depletion, infant craniosacral and supporting emotional release (also known as ’Somato-Emotional Realease’ work). Sarah also holds a BFA in visual art from Loyola University New Orleans.

“We are meeting the tissue where it is at with pressence, curiousity and an intention of neutrality (not naming this good or bad, not directing the body in what needs to change). We connect to the tissue with this pressence and engage gently to see what wants to happen next, or if there is a pattern that might be revealed. I love this process of slowing down, being with the body and asking, ‘What is most important to work on today? What do I need to know to be most useful for you right now?’ There is a dance that unfolds of movement, drawing in, releasing, unwinding.. I also love this approach when my hands are immersed in clay, working out the details of a new painting, dancing or taking in the patterns and information from the natural world. While an ongoing practice, I aspire to approach my relationships with friends, family and community in the same way.”

Sarah is excited to be returning to her craniosacral practice after a few years off to explore her other passion which is real estate and helping people find the magic of home in Portland. While not currently working with new real estate clients, Sarah is a connector at heart and would be happy to help you find an agent who resonates with you and your vision. Sarah lives in Southeast Portland with her partner John and her mom nearby. She is in love with Mt Tabor and when not exploring nature, is found painting, knitting, throwing pottery or baking pies (or an occaitional over the top birthday cake).
